Summarising the pre-application consultation

The applicants undertook two phases of public and stakeholder consultation on the proposals.  An informal pre-application consultation on the proposals took place in spring and summer 2017 which was followed by a statutory consultation on the plans in December 2017 and January 2018.

Explaining the Statutory Consultation

In March 2016, key elements of the Planning (Wales) Act 2015 (the Act) were implemented. Developers are thus required to carry out statutory pre-application consultation on planning applications for major developments in Wales.  A number of consultation activities need to be undertaken before the applicants can submit a planning application. These include:

  • making draft planning application documents available to view;
  • notifying the right consultees of the consultation;
  • providing a 28-day consultation period;
  • reporting how the pre-application consultation was undertaken and how people’s views were considered in a ‘Pre-Application Consultation Report’ submitted as part of the application.

Under Section 17 of the Planning (Wales) Act 2015 the applicants carried out a pre-application consultation on the proposals.  The consultation was held in December 2017 and January 2018.

Consultation reports

Reports of the non-statutory and statutory consultations were submitted to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority as part of the planning application for the development. The application documents can be found here. The ‘PAC report’ summarises the statutory consultation and the ‘Engagement report’ summarises the non-statutory consultation. Thank you to everyone who submitted comments on the proposal, your feedback is greatly appreciated.
